The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

On June 17, 2014, the US Department of Justice and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau filed a Consent Judgment in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. SunTrust Mortgage has agreed to pay $550 million as part of a class action settlement. The action settles allegations that Suntrust Mortgage is in violation of federal law prohibiting misconduct in the servicing of mortgages. The matter was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.
