You don’t need a teaching certificate to apply, and the GRE is waived for candidates with a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA.
UTPB’s online special education degree program is just as rigorous as our on-campus program. Every online course is taught by the same respected UTPB faculty members who teach on campus. And unlike other online special education programs, UTPB’s online MA in Special Education is accredited by the State Board for Educator Certification, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Council for Exceptional Children. You’ll find our faculty and staff are supportive and responsive to your needs. In fact, our online graduate programs earn high marks from U.S. News World Report #6 Student Services and Technology and #24 Student Engagement and Accreditation.
With a master’s degree in special education, not only will you be fully prepared to serve as a special education teacher at the elementary, middle and high school levels, you will also be qualified for supervisory positions including curriculum specialist and manager or director of special education programs. Plus, you’ll feel more confident knowing that you’ve prepared yourself to succeed in a very competitive job market. Research shows that individuals with a master’s degree earn more and have a lower risk for unemployment than their less-educated peers.
