Our Degree Courses
Our BA (Hons) degrees are internationally recognised undergraduate bachelor of arts programmes, validated and administered by our partner the University of St Mark & St John.
You can study our degrees as a standard three year course or as a fast-track two year course. If you have the time we’d recommend the three year option, if you’re in a rush or you need to save money go for the fast track. Both delivery options contain exactly the same content, but the two year course also has an intensive summer semester each year.
Skills for Success
We will enable you to imagine, develop and build the best version of yourself you can be. This is your chance to THINK BIG! But if you’re planning to think big you’ll need to develop a whole range of skills to help you reach your goal.
Whilst you hone your core music production expertise we will guide you in developing another set of skills and attributes. A set of skills which we all need to develop if we want to achieve our goals in life whether that be success in the music industry or anything else you might have planned.
This part of our unique educational approach starts with this question –
“What are the essential attributes or skills that make a person successful in life and how can they best be learnt?”
We use the word ‘success’ in the broadest terms. Whatever your own definition of success, there are a range of tools, skills, attributes and habits you can develop which will significantly increase your chances of achieving that success.
It is now widely recognised that these skills and attributes are the essential building blocks that will help turn a talented, hardworking human being into a genuinely successful one.
At dBs we also believe that personal well being and happiness are essential to living a truly successful life and we encourage our students to incorporate this into their own development.
From 2017, much of this learning will be delivered within other modules and our intention is that most of the time you may not be aware that you’re in the process of developing these skills.
Welcome to Montessori Academy of Culver City
Established in 1986, Montessori Academy Of Culver City is a year-round school in Culver City, California, that follows the Montessori method. We provide a strong academic curriculum in a loving, caring environment. This program also includes music education and art and contributes to the physical, social and emotional development of the child. Our beautifully landscaped property features a quiet, serene environment and a large, well-supervised, secure play area. Full-time and part-time programs are available, taught by credentialed teachers all year round.
Our Montessori school serves students ages 2 through 6. Your child does not need to be potty trained; we work with the parents and potty train the child at school. We have approximately 5000 Sq. Ft. of indoor activity area that includes a separate room for Music/Dance and a Library, over 4000 Sq. Ft. of outdoor play area in a natural setting, and ample parking in front of the school building for pick up and drop off.
Under the guidance of our Academy Director, Ruhi Khan, our year-round academy offers a program that provides individualized attention and maintains high academic standards. Montessori methods and teaching tools are used to ensure maximum developmental opportunities for children through age 6. Our program includes:
Foreign Language –English, Spanish, Mandarin
Young children have a natural ability to learn, with 50% of this ability being developed in the first few years of life, 30% by age eight (Kotulak, 1996). The first three to four years of life are considered the best time for children to learn a second language, and is as easy as acquiring knowledge in their first language (Vos, 2008). Why? Children are bound to assimilate new sounds and new utterances indiscriminately at that time regardless of whether it is their mother tongue or another language.
Lower Student-Teacher Ratio
Our strong academic program and low student-teacher ratio further facilitates optimum learning conditions. According to availability of space, children can be enrolled throughout the year.
A Word from Our Director
We provide a nurturing environment that helps the child develop emotionally, socially, and physically as a whole. Due to our low student-teacher ratio, we are able to provide individualized attention to help our students thrive.
